Limberlost Place

5L063 Telkwa Relocation (Bulbous Toe Section) Project
After 7 years of design and construction, the project moved 2.4 km of a radial transmission line out of the path of the Bulbous Toe Landslide to increase reliability and reduce safety risks of a line that serves a large region in northwest BC.
Trans Mountain Expansion Project
Collaboration was the guiding principle for BGC, Stantec, Thurber and WSP to work side-by-side to help design and construct one of Canada’s largest pipeline projects, the Trans Mountain Expansion Project resulting in efficiency and innovation.
Vancouver Airport Fuel Delivery Project
VAFFC, with RAM acting as the Project Delivery Consultant, completed a new fuel receiving, storage and delivery system for the Vancouver Airport Authority which features a marine terminal, 6 fuel storage tanks, and an underground pipeline to YVR.
Lulu Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Green Hydrogen Production Feasibility Study
An innovative new pathway to clean energy and circular water – utilizing existing wastewater treatment plants to produce feasible, viable, sustainable and very low carbon hydrogen.
LNG Canada Marine Facilities Offloading Facility
The $96M, 550m long LNG Canada Material Offloading Facility wharf enables Canada’s largest private capital investment project and largest LNG export facility by receiving construction materials and 8,000 tonne plant modules.
Pilot Testing A Living Dike
This Project is a pioneering approach to flood protection by restoring & enhancing salt marsh. It experiments with nature-based flood protection in a phased approach, advancing collective knowledge in the field. A first of its kind in Canada.

Sumgas Creek Fish Passage and Stream Restoration
Imagine 70 years of isolation—that’s what happened to fish in Sumgas Creek when impassable weirs were built in the 1950s. Stantec designed a new, passable stream channel with LNG Canada. Spawning salmon were seen upstream mere weeks after completion!
Penticton Creek Restoration Phase 3A Upper and 3B
Stantec designed the restoration of 320-metres of Penticton Creek to create a quality fish habitat while providing flood resiliency. The restoration also supports vital ecosystem functions and provides the community with an attractive outdoor space.

Whistler Odour Control
Wastewater systems aren’t meant to be seen, heard or smelled. End of life municipal infrastructure in Whistler not only increased maintenance costs and public health risks, it generated unpleasant odours & noise. Upgrades at 3 stations changed that.
BC Housing Climate Risk Assessment Framework Tool
Morrison Hershfield developed a portfolio-scale Climate Risk Assessment Framework tool that allows BC Housing to apply a standardized approach to integrating climate risk and resilience at its assets across the province.

GHD designed a set of scenarios to understand the implications and challenges of a heavy duty fleet transition for Transport Canada.
Adaptation of the Nisg̱a’a Nation to the Impacts of Climate Change – Floodplain Mapping
NHC completed a multi-disciplinary flood mapping project for the Nisg̱a’a Nation, which included surveying, river and coastal monitoring, studies on climate change, hydrology, hydraulics, coastal processes, geomorphology, and community engagement.
FEMA P-58 Seismic Building Performance Assessment of the New St. Paul’s Hospital
A novel seismic assessment methodology was utilized on the New St. Paul’s Hospital providing the Owner insight into post-earthquake performance and resilience of the structure and all its equipment, including estimated repair costs and repair times.
AI LiDAR, City of Vancouver
Leveraging the innovative use of artificial intelligence, through an in-house developed AI tool, the AI LiDAR project for the City of Vancouver was able to provide an increased level accuracy, efficiency, and detail in its final deliverable.
Planning & Managing for Resilient Infrastructure in a Changing Climate: McElhanney’s Culvert Vulnerability Asset Management System
McElhanney’s Culvert Vulnerability tool allowed MoTI to determine the vulnerability to climate change of their culverts, tracking assets that have been upgraded or replaced, with the new asset resilient to predicted effects of climate change.
New Westminster Interceptor Columbia Section Rehabilitation
Jacobs’ New Westminster Interceptor Columbia Section Rehabilitation project is the longest and largest-diameter instance of live sliplining completed in the Lower Mainland and for Metro Vancouver.
Golden Ears Pump Station and Sanitary Sewer Overflow Tank
Adorned with vertical façade panels, Indigenous artwork, advanced exterior LED lighting system, and a green roof, the Golden Ears Pump Station and SSO tank meets its functional objectives of mitigating wet weather impacts to the sewer system.
North Surrey Interceptor No. 2 – Preliminary Design
GHD designed 830m long 2.7m diameter tunnel with a 2.4m x 2.4m box culvert supported on piles for Metro Vancouver, which addressed liquifiable soils, artesian groundwater pressures, in a dense urban setting with environmentally sensitive areas.
84 Avenue: Turning 800m of Challenges into Sustainable Solutions
The 84 Ave improvement project posed a myriad of challenges from heavy traffic, environmental concerns, and community engagement, in an effort to achieve Surrey’s sustainable transportation improvement objectives for the next decade.
Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant
The new $75 M Rose Valley WTP provides the City of West Kelowna with potable water. The legacy irrigation district customers were historically burdened by seasonal water quality advisories but now receive fully compliant, safe to consume water.
Quartz Creek Bridge Replacement Project
The Quartz Creek Bridge is a bridge replacement project to create a reliable, high-speed route from Kamloops to the Alberta Border. Spanning 180 meters, the new four-laning, lightweight bridge provides enhanced safety and traffic capacity.

The environmentally sensitive construction of the $60M Haisla Bridge provides safe & reliable access to Kitimat’s industrial lands while protecting aquatic habitat. Collaboration and partnerships have advanced reconciliation with the Haisla Nation.
Esplanade Complete Street
ISL and the City of North Vancouver transformed Esplanade into a vibrant destination street prioritizing safety and mobility. Design firsts for the city and region focused on traffic flow, speed management and user safety within a restricted space.
Royal Avenue Underpass Rehabilitation and Deck Replacement
The Royal Avenue Underpass Rehabilitation pursued net zero emissions in upgrading an aging structure by salvaging abutments, using a self-propelled modular transporter, and retrofitting the structural articulation to improve seismic performance.
Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4
The Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 project improved 4.8 km of Trans-Canada Highway 1 to a high speed four-lane divided standard in steep mountainous terrain in an environment subject to significant rockfall, avalanche, and debris flow hazards.
Red Lillooet River Bridge Deck Renewal
AtkinsRéalis provided deck renewal engineering services for the Red Lillooet River Bridge on Hwy 99 in BC. In collaboration with the owner and the project team, the project improved public safety and bridge performance with a sustainable solution.
Highway 17 & Mount Newton Cross Road Transit Queue Jumper Lanes Project
For this intersection improvement project, AtkinsRéalis provided new regional transit stops on Highway 17 to ensure schedule and travel time reliability at Mount Newton Cross Road. The project improved driv-er visibility and bus jump queues.
BC Highway Reinstatement Program – Highway 5
The Highway 5 (3 bridges) project was executed via an Alliance contract and included the design and construction of six new permanent bridge structures, two temporary bridges and associated 4.5 km of highway reconstruction of the Coquihalla Highway.
Highway 29 Realignment
The Hwy 29 Realignment involved 5 new bridge crossings & was necessary as the new Site C reservoir will inundate the current highway. WSP addressed various technical challenges & successfully delivered the project prior to filling of Site C reservoir
Vye Road and Highway 11 Improvements Project
The Vye Road, Highway 11 transportation improvement project is a significant investment to upgrade the infrastructure in Abbotsford. This project involved significant engineering challenges that were overcome to ensure successful completion.
Commissioner Street and Beecher Bay Spill Response Bases
The Vancouver Commissioner Street and Beecher Bay satellite base projects will play an essential role in enhancing the South Coast’s ongoing spill response program. Moffatt & Nichol provided full engineering through construction phase services.
Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 – Viaducts
BASIS Engineering designed an innovative solution for the Kicking Horse Canyon Ph4 project requiring numerous techniques and details for the use of compact precast components to allow for rapid bridge construction of Viaducts to span unstable slopes.
Kitimat Marine Base for World’s First Fully Electric Tugs
Working under the Haisla Nation, Bridgemans Kitimaat Joint Venture and HaiSea Marine designed and constructed a marine base for LNG Canada in Kitmat, BC for dual-fuel escort tugs and the world’s first fully electric harbour tugs.
The Old Skeena River Bridge: Rehab & Recoating of a 100 Year Old Steel Truss Bridge
Morrison Hershfield provided engineer of record & construction engieering for the historic Old Skeena River Bridge, including full bridge recoating, new bearings, replacement of truss members & 6 sidewalk refuge bays for 30 yrs of additional service.
Highway 1 Malahat Tunnel Hill Washout
The November 2021 extreme rainfall event overwhelmed drainage, resulting in local failure to a wall supporting Highway 1. McElhanney and Thurber mobilized immediately and worked together to restore this crucial highway link on an expedited schedule.
Ross Street Underpass
As a result of Ross Street Underpass, downtown Salmon Arm is now well-connected with its waterfront and is currently benefitting with increased tourism, faster emergency responses, community building, employment opportunities, and economic growth.
The Stack
The Stack, with its distinctive “stacked box” design, is now Vancouver’s tallest office building constructed according to zero carbon standards. It is a unique addition to the downtown Vancouver skyline.
BC Cancer Kelowna Linear Accelerator Replacement
A first of its kind in Canada, the new Ethos machine in Kelowna has made a significant impact on cancer treatment with specialized AI. New tech needs new solutions to old problems but the result is more effective treatment and overall patient care.
