Steve Fleck, P.Eng

Steve Fleck, P.Eng., Executive Vice President and Chief Practice & Project Officer for Stantec, began his career in engineering nearly 40-years ago after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University.

Steve spent his career working across borders and sectors, actively promoting the value of consulting engineering, and serving his professional community. He is described by a peer as a “perfect example of the best of our industry, and the type of person we should all aspire to be”.

Having established himself early as a leader in British Columbia’s consulting engineering industry, Steve has built a cross-sector practice that touched all aspects of BC’s economy and infrastructure.

Off the clock, Steve’s leadership in his work shines through in his belief that our professional practice is made better through service to our community. As a Past Chair of ACEC-BC and Director with ACEC Canada, Steve committed his time to bettering conditions for the industry through promotion of qualification-based selection and use of standard contracts.

In his community, Steve has dedicated considerable time to youth sport, education, and as a consistent and proud cyclist with Ride2Survive, the Canadian Cancer Society’s largest independent fundraiser. Recently, Steve accepted his most important role – Grampa – welcoming his granddaughter Hayden to the Fleck family.
