About the Project
The Global Infrastructure Hub (a G20 initiative) identified an opportunity to help governments and public-sector asset managers to improve the quality of infrastructure.
The solution was a reference guide that demonstrates how output specifications for long-term infrastructure contracts (namely public private partnerships, or “P3” projects) can deliver quality infrastructure objectives.
Based on our global reach as well as our hands-on P3 project experience, Mott MacDonald was engaged as the sole consultant and lead author to develop the Reference Guide on Output Specifications for Quality Infrastructure that incorporates examples, in the form of case studies, representing a range of sectors and geographies. The GI Hub was interested in our Canadian expertise due to the success and maturity of the local P3 market. The Reference Guide is publicly available on the Quality Infrastructure Investment Database – an initiative of the G20 under the 2019 Japanese Presidency, in collaboration with the Global Infrastructure Hub, the OECD and the World Bank – and has been used to facilitate workshops with government representatives and public-sector asset managers from Paris, to Sydney and Dakar.
